Willem Marcus van Weede van Berencamp Esquire (1848--1925) was a Dutch politician. He was a diplomat, who was minister of Foreign Affairs in 1905. At the insistence of Queen Wilhelmina he replaced Robert Melvil van Lynden, who was not up to the difficult task. When his term was over, he returned to be an ambassador. Despite his great wealth he was a thrifty man, who dressed plainly. He did not own a car and traveled by public transport. He had a great literary interest. |
